shame on us for all we have done

Yes. I made an Assassin's Creed playlist.
Look, I know I'm obsessed, shut up - I was just - just listening to Lonely Soul and thinking about how religion and control recur as themes in AC, and whether they were going to maintain that into ACII despite the change in setting. And, um. Then I must have...poked through my iTunes and...found a few songs that I, well, sort of think are appropriate and -
Well, I should warn that this is less based on the actual Assassin's Creed, and more the Assassin's Creed that exists inside my head, which may or may not resemble the real one precisely; I'm not sure on that point.
But hey, it's an excuse to post some music! ...And have a post! ...Boy, I haven't been very good at this whole LJ business, have I?
Group Four - Massive Attack
I imagine watching the same room with the same subjects and scientists doing the same damn things for the same number of hours every day must get incredibly boring. But at least the things they do are intellectually exciting!
I see to bolts
For key to locks
No boats are rocked
I'm free to roam
Among dummy screens
And magazines
God Bless - Lamb
Especially for the subject. Especially for this particular subject. I always feel kind of sorry for numbers one-through-sixteen; they were probably ancestors of beggar-ladies, box-carriers, or Guard Murdered by Altair for the Player's Depraved Giggles #634.
You're gonna feel the wind at your heels, you know
You're gonna feel a sparkle in your steps
Stealth Mass in F#M - Apollo Four Forty
Living in the past.
Harrowdown Hill - Thom Yorke
Abstergo, whatever they say, whatever they intend, are not good people and it shows. The problem comes in when you try to figure out how, exactly, that makes them different from anyone else you know.
Can you see me when I'm running?
Away from them
Away from them
I can't take the pressure
No one cares if you live or die
They just want you gone
The Clock - Thom Yorke
They keep on pushing. It would be nice if we knew what they're pushing for, what they need it for, and if we weren't absolutely certain they're going to discard us as soon as they've found it, but then there's nothing that we can do to push back, is there?
Time is running out for us
Zero-Sum - Nine Inch Nails
But, in the end, it's almost understandable - considering what they're pushing against. You saw it in the past, and it's continued into the now, for all our so-called advancement.
The question, then, is whether stopping what they want to stop is worth everything we'll give up, in the end.
And all of this is a consequence
Brought on by our own hand
If you believe in that sort of thing
And did you ever really find
When you closed your eyes
Any place that was still
And at peace
Bonus: Lonely Soul - UNKLE & Julian Ashcroft
Because whatever their other faults, Ubi Montreal's advertising rocks.
There's no secret to living
Just keep on walking
There's no secret to dying
Just keep on flying
