So, am five episodes into Samurai Champloo and it is really sort of awesome?

I mean. Really. Absolutely visually stunning and has a brilliant, dysfunctional dynamic between the main characters and often totally kicks my expectations in the goolies.

So, uh, Mr. Watanabe officially owns my soul now. Just. Makin' that clear.

…You know, when I think about it, I suspect you would actually like Samurai Champloo a lot. It's an anime about feudal Japan set to rap music it won't get for about four hundred years, and it is great. Basically Fuu (a cute, sweet, feisty young girl with a pink kimono and a bottomless pit for a stomach) is chivvying Mugen (a fucking lunatic with fluffy hair who likes to start fights and is strangely attractive) and Jin (a cool, calm and deadly samurai who wears glasses and is really attractive) along on a quest to find a "samurai who smells of sunflowers." This is a problem for the men, who keep attempting to kill each other. It has rap, pretty Japanese men, lots of swordfights, beautiful animation, pure hilarity and, at one point, zombies.

(I read your user info page, and I want to give you some advice: don't use the pointy brackets. They're for coding, not talking, and it makes LJ sputter.)
