Never mind love, peace and togetherness. We all know what Christmas is really about. I personally like to think that 'getting presents' can, with some delusion, end up feeling sentimental, but I'm an optimist. Don't listen to me.
Anyway, I got some nice stuff, and some that's sheer wtf, but most of it's all good and shiny. For the good stuff, we have Volumes One and Two of the Clone Wars cartoon. I spent most of the holiday watching them. Ah, Mace, even though you got trounced in Ep 3, I will always remember you pounding the crap out of Destroyers Droids with your bare hands. *sniff*
I also got a wallet. It's a nice wallet.
Ooh, and I got the Artemis Fowl Files, and Mortal Engines (wheee!) and a book called 'Character Design Studio', which is very very interesting. There is also the 'Series of Unfortunate Events' movie, which I like, and the soundtrack, for some reason. (It's franchise-er-iffic!) Aaaaaaand the Spider-Man 2 game. Aaaaaaand a necklace with magnetic beads (uh...) with two books about crystals that come with free crystals. At least they've realised I like shiny things.
Also, a new USB drive. All to myself. And it works in my laptop. Yay!
But. This all pales in comparison with the present I got from both Mum and Dad.
It's white, and silver, and thin, and it has headphones, and it lights up, and it took me half an hour to work out how the heck I work it, and when I opened it I nearly burst into happy tears.
It's an iPod Nano. With a pink carry case, but god, I can't even be cynical about it. So...so...very...music! All the time! No more bulky, fragile CDS! No buttoning through songs, trying to remember what I burned! No skipping tracks! No more running out of batteries within moments, you obsolete piece of crap!
This will accompany me to many places. I will cherish it as my first-born child.
My CD player was as cheap as a really cheap thing, and never worthy of a name. This little beauty, which I hold at this very moment, is christened...The Pak.
