Oh yes and I wanted to talk about the Thief method of stealth music, which is quite different from everything else I've heard - most other games (and movies) go for quick, high-pitched beats, like light footsteps, almost? (I'm thinking mostly Mission: Impossible and Metal Gear Solid here.) But the music in Thief is very rarely like that. Instead it's slow, deep tones and a tapestry of incidental sound (well mostly, when it's not being hilarious rocking). I think it's one of the things I love most about it, because it gives the proceedings weight and immersion. Erm. I'm sleepy sleepy and totally not wording this well, but if I'm being at all clear, I'd love to hear your thoughts! Since you're the only other person I regularly talk to who's played Thief and everything.
