gzzzzrrrgh

I ate'nt dead. Despite my best efforts, however, when a couple of my neighbors decided it would be awesome to play music and talk at 3 AM at volumes you could probably hear two levels above and below, I was unable to set them on fire with the power of my mind alone. They didn't even have the decency to talk about or listen to anything interesting!

So I think I'm going to post some links to gorgeous fanart.

Assassin's Creed

Somebody does fanart of Desmond Miles, and for once it's not about how he's a dork who isn't as cool as his ancestors or about his connection to Altair or Ezio! Instead it's a very cool, very subdued and really kind of elegant view of him in a largely unexplored context. Also the proof that waistcoats and watches are the key to my heart.

(I like Desmond a lot. He doesn't deserve the bad rap he gets from the fandom. I think he fought hard to make his own choices and identity and then still saw them forcibly taken away from him. I think he's very human, and humanity is important in a story like AC, and I think he has the right to be angry and upset in the situation he's in.)

The Dead In White: A comic adaptation of this demo at E3. Lovely warm tones, beautiful style. Does, however, contain violence.

This is implausible on a hilarious number of levels, but every time I look at it I forget all that and feel as though I'm intruding on a moment in which I have no right to be present. There's a rawness and a weird intimacy to it despite being completely work-safe.

If ACII doesn't put Ezio in a mask at any point, I will be disappointed.

Misc.

It's Garrett, and he looks slightly like Viggo Mortensen!

One of my favourite images and moments in any game rendered in a lovely, poignant way.

I don't have a high opinion of Prototype, despite coming across it everywhere. I don't like Alex Mercer, either, because he is a vicious, dull, unlikeable prick. I do, however, like this picture for being dynamic, well-set-out and in general totally neat with awesome perspective. Bizarrely enough for anything related to Prototype, there's no violence, though there is blood.

BLARGH, apartment noises. D: D:

I've been pretty lucky so far with them, but our windows face the parking lot and there seem to be a few people that absolutely love to have their bass turned waaaaaay way up. Also, for some reason, our bathroom seems to be a portal for noise. I blame the fan.

Also, looking at the AC links makes me want to play it in ways I haven't before. SO. PRETTY.

YAY GARRETT ART. E-even if he looks kind of pretty.
