I just bought a copy of Skulduggery Pleasant and read it all in one go.
It is not deep.
It is not groundbreaking.
It is, however, very smart, very witty, a masterpiece of lampshaded tropes and more fun than thirty barrels of monkeys, and that should be enough for anyone.
(It would make a brilliant animated movie. I want to make it.)
